Great North Run have partnerered with ViRACE, to bring you an innovative virtual experience with audio clips from the event so that you will hear the sounds of the Great North Run. From an upbeat warm-up led by the legendary Roy Gayle, to chants of OGGY OGGY OGGY, and the iconic roar of the Red Arrows fly-past, it will feel as much like the real event as possible!
Mimicking a race format so that all runners start their Virtual Great North Run at the same time and complete the same 13.1 mile distance. Runners will be tracked throughout the virtual race and will be able to view results after the race has finished.
You can run any route that you like, but you must follow all local regulations with regard to rights of way, traffic, hazards, etc.

You can choose your route for the Virtual Great North Run, starting at 10.30am. You will be sent App details when you register which will contain further instructions. You must follow all local regulations with regard to rights of way, traffic, hazards, etc. he actual Great North Run takes place on closed roads, most of which are not accessible to pedestrians at any other time of the year so please don’t try to run the actual route.

£50 could train a volunteer befriender for an isolated older person.
£180 could fund a Music Therapist for a day, working to reduce anxiety in four 1:1 sessions and one group session.
